Just getting an audition on a national TV show is a huge accomplishment. Advancing into the semifinals on one of the most-watched television competition shows is a monumental feat. Tonight, we learned whether the ventriloquist-magician prodigy from Paw Paw, Michigan made the it to the finals on “America’s Got Talent.”
Cummings, who is in the 7th grade, is a magician-ventriloquist-comedian. We first met Cummings after her audition on June 13th wowed judges, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara.
Fifty-five acts made it to the semifinals, with 11 performing each Tuesday night, with two from each show making it to the finale. Last night was the first live semifinals show. Fans voted for their favorites with the top two advancing into the finals.
On tonight’s results show, Cummings was the first to learn she made it into the top five. However, when host Terry Crews announced the top 3, Cummings did not make it. She had been eliminated after an amazing run on the show. The two who advanced are singer Lavender Darcangelo and Adrian Stoica with his dog Hurricane.
One other Michigander has advanced to the semis this season. Philip Bowen, 38, a fiddler who lives in Brownstown Township in Metro Detroit, impressed the judges on the episode airing on May 30. His live semifinals performance will be on Tuesday, Sept. 5.
