A 12-year old middle school student from Michigan is about to perform in front of five famous celebrities, a live studio audience and millions of television viewers on the hit NBC competition show, “America’s Got Talent.”

UPDATE: Watch this Michigan girl shock the “AGT” judges with her magic ventriloquism

Brynn Cummings just finished the 6th grade at Paw Paw Middle School in the village located west of Kalamazoo. You can watch her audition airing tonight, Tuesday, June 13 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Cummings says she has been a magician and ventriloquist since the age of 8 after being inspired by watching Darci Lynn perform on “AGT.”

“Darcy inspired the ventriloquism. When I was watching her on “AGT” when I was 8, I looked at my mom and said that I wanted to do that,” Cummings told MLive. “I then asked for a puppet and got one for my birthday from my grandparents.”

Cummings is no stranger to competition, either. Not long after receiving her first puppet, she won the stage competition at the 82nd Annual Abbott’s Magic Get Together in Colon, Michigan, which is known as the “Magic Capital of the World.”

She also won 1st place in the Junior Competition at the International Ventriloquist Convention (VentHaven) in Kentucky last year. She bought her current puppet, Penelope the skunk, with that prize money.

Cummings’ performance on “AGT” has been pre-recorded. Without spoiling anything, she described to us what the experience was like.

“It was really fun. I was nervous before the performance, but once I was out there, it just seemed normal for me. I’ve practiced my act so many times that it was basically muscle memory at that point.”

Cummings already says she has a pretty good idea what she wants to with her future.

“I like performing and what I’m doing now is good. For college, I want to go to Western Michigan University and get a Masters degree in music to teach band and choir. I also like to sing and play instruments.

There will be an “AGT” watch party in Paw Paw tonight. The community is invited to attend at Red Arrow Ministries from 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
