FENTON, MI – A new supplement shop in Fenton officially opened this month at the former Ruby Tuesday location.

The Vitamin Shoppe, a leading retail destination for health and wellness solutions, opened this new locally-owned location.

Located at 19005 Silver Parkway, suite B, the new store is part of The Vitamin Shoppe’s expanding franchise program and is owned and operated by Fenton-area entrepreneurs, John Kawaleski and Amanda Lambourn.

The official grand opening was celebrated on Saturday and continues on Sunday, Aug. 20 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

“Fenton is a growing community,” Lambourn told MLive-The Flint Journal. “Working at my last job, I got a lot of feedback from local customers in the Clarkston area that came from the Fenton area who said there is a need for something like this.”

Lambourn has been a certified holistic health practitioner for six years, and Kawaleski has a background in the excavation business for more than 35 years, bringing entrepreneurial skills to the table and leading The Vitamin Shoppe.

The grand opening on Sunday will feature gift bags, a gift basket raffle and a duffel bag giveaway with a purchase of $59.99 or more while supplies last.

The store sells supplements, sports nutrition, single vitamins, herbs, homeopathic products, pre- and post-workout protein powders, energy drinks and a variety of health options.

“We all have nutritional gaps that need to be filled,” Lambourn said. “We’re not getting that from the food like we should. You have to start somewhere, even if it’s taking something simple like vitamin C or vitamin D.”

In January, The Vitamin Shoppe was recognized as one of the top 500 franchises in Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500, the industry’s most comprehensive franchise ranking, a news release said.

A Vitamin Shoppe health report also stated 59% of Americans say they are more engaged now with proactively managing their health than during pre-pandemic years.

“As a destination for health and wellness solutions for millions of customers annually, The Vitamin Shoppe has a unique window into the behaviors and preferences of the American wellness consumer,” said Muriel Gonzalez, president of The Vitamin Shoppe, in the health report. “Understanding these patterns is a central part of our mission to provide the highest quality products, latest innovations, and industry-leading expertise to the customers and communities we serve.”

Normal business hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

“Take time for your health or you’ll be forced to take time for your sickness,” Kawaleski said.
