Ryan Zuke is a sports reporter for MLive.com and covers University of Michigan athletics. He writes about a variety of sports with a primary focus on football and recruiting. With the success of many Wolverines programs in recent years, Ryan has covered multiple championship events, including two College Football Playoff semifinals, two Frozen Fours, an NCAA baseball championship and a women’s basketball Elite Eight. He also strives to tell stories that go beyond the field, the ice or the court. Ryan’s work has won multiple awards, including first place for best sports story in 2018 by the Michigan Associated Press, where he detailed how the death of three college wrestlers in the 1990s sparked the need for safety reform in the sport. He has spent 10 years in journalism, primarily in sports, since graduating from Central Michigan University in 2013. Before joining MLive in 2016, Ryan worked as the sports editor at the Big Rapids Pioneer.
