JACKSON, MI – The Roadhouse Grill & Bar serves everything from pub food to healthier cuisine.
The restaurant has been open since 1967, but chef Bradford Wright has only in the kitchen for two years. While he and owners Leah Kalis-Denda and Aleksandar Denda are always working to create new specials, most of the historic menu items are still what customers look for, he said.

“I think you can always get something you want here,” Wright said.
The Tavern Burger is one of the staple items. The custom-blend burger comes with sautéed portobello mushrooms, Vidalia onions, applewood smoked bacon, mayo, lettuce, tomato and cheese, all stacked between a brioche bun.

“The Tavern is kind of one of those things that are all inclusive. It pretty much has everything on it,” Wright said. “If you’re not a picky eater and you like everything, that’s the way to go.”
Power bowls have recently increased in popularity, he said. These typically come with dried cranberries, shredded carrots, cucumbers, apples, edamame, spinach, almonds, rice all drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette. People can also choose a between egg, a veggie patty, steak and grilled chicken and avocado to add protein.
The item is perfect for those looking for a healthier option, without having to just order a salad, Wright said.
Other items on the menu include sandwiches, salads, wraps, a chicken strip basket and Mexican food.
The Roadhouse Grill & Bar, 4112 Lansing Ave., is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 11 a.m. to midnight Thursday and 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
