NAPOLEON, MI – Aggie’s Sports Bar in Napoleon offers basically anything you can think of when it comes to bar fare.
Aggie’s tries to offer specials you won’t find on the everyday menu, most of which are crafted through the creativity of cook and kitchen manager Tristan Pizana and go hand-in-hand with a good drink.
One of these options is the Sweet Heat Pork Nachos, which are topped with pulled pork, fried jalapenos, cheese, barbecue sauce and Frank’s RedHot Sauce. Coleslaw is added to help cool down the heat, Pizana said.
The nachos are especially popular for parties or people coming off the golf course, Aggie’s co-owner Scott Ashe said.
“I think it’s just mouthwatering when you look at it,” Pizana said. “A lot of the time, when someone gets an order, and people see it come out, you’ll get five more orders.”
While there are many burgers on the menu, the bacon double cheeseburger is only served on special. This burger is stacked high with two patties, onion, bacon, cheese, pickles, ketchup and mustard.
Patrons also can find a range of pizzas, soups, salads and sandwiches on the menu.
One of the most popular pizzas is the Philly cheesesteak pizza, which comes with everything on a Philly cheesesteak sandwich on a pizza, including onion, mushroom, green pepper, cheese and steak.
“It’s kind of a cool idea, which is why people come here again, for the beer and pizza,” Pizana said.
Aggie’s has also had several upgrades, including a new patio, new chairs and tables and other improvements.

The upgraded bar was completed a few weeks ago and has nearly doubled that space. Around 18 chairs can fit around the bar now, and 15 beers are now on tap, Ashe said.
“(The bar has) just a lot more room,” Ashe said. “Now my bartender can also see the whole bar, so I think we’re more efficient when we’re waiting on people, and it makes it look nicer in here too.”
Ashe hopes to continue to expand on Aggie’s offerings, including bringing Sunday brunch back once he said they have enough staff. Aggie’s will also begin serving pizza by the slice on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Aggie’s Sports Bar, 108 Brooklyn Road, is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
