CLARK LAKE, MI – Warm weather and lake days have arrived at Clark Lake, and the Beach Bar & Restaurant is ready for another summer season.

The Clark Lake restaurant has been a popular spot residents have enjoyed since 1946. There’s great food, live music and summer vibes, said Lexi Collins, general manager and daughter of owner John Collins.

“When the lakes are packed, we are usually packed,” she said.

People may stop by the Beach Bar because it’s right on the water, but they also come for the food. The restaurant is known for its fresh, no-fried-food menu, including a range of soups, sandwiches and pizza.

The tomato soup is legendary at the restaurant and comes from an old family recipe. The creamy, bisque-like soup is loved by everyone, and a few have even tried to come up with their own copy-cat recipe, Collins said.

“People look up Beach Bar tomato soup and a bunch of recipes will come up, but it’s not the same,” she said.

The Beach Bar’s Reuban sandwich also is popular. The corned beef -- or turkey -- is stacked with sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and dill dressing. Pizza is also popular, and a recent addition to the menu is the macaroni and cheese pizza, which comes with alfredo sauce, mozzarella and cheddar cheese.

Great staff, a beautiful view on the patio and the restaurant’s band line up in the summer keeps patrons coming back for more, Collins said.. Live music takes place on the front patio every Wednesday and Sunday evening through the summer months.

“We fill up and it’s just a big party out there,” Collins said.

A full schedule of bands can be found on the Beach Bar’s Facebook page.

The Beach Bar Gear Garage and Upper Deck is also located across the street and includes merchandise, bathing suits, coverups and other items, she said.

The Beach Bar & Restaurant, 3505 Ocean Beach Road in Clark Lake, is open during the summer season from noon to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and noon to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

More information can be found on its Facebook page and website.
