JACKSON, MI – Remnants of the House of Taco have officially disappeared, and a popular Jackson food truck business has moved into the building.

Baby Bear Burger opened its brick-and-mortar restaurant on Saturday, March 18. The burger shop has been seeing nonstop business, with cars wrapping around the drive-thru to get a taste of the bear-themed burgers, loaded fries, hot dogs, sides and more, owner Marshawn Goodloe said.

“We’re very pleased with the outcome,” Goodloe said. “Everybody came out from the community, and were showing their support, especially those who have been with Baby Bear Burger from day one.”

Baby Bear Burger announced it was moving into the building at 2400 Page Ave. in February after a year of traveling in a food truck. Just like with the food truck, however, the food is popular.

Their Grizzley burger is a fan favorite, and comes with A1 mayo, grilled mushrooms and onions, as well as Swiss cheese.

“It’s just really kicked up a lot,” Goodloe said.

The newest burger, Bubba Burger, has been “throwing a few punches of its own,” Goodloe said. The creole mayo, lettuce, tomato, pepper jack cheese and shrimp make it an ideal menu item for some.

The loaded fries also are popular and include the Pig Pile, which are fries topped with queso, pulled pork, beans, Fritos, onions and barbecue sauce.

Some changes are expected to happen at Baby Bear Burger in the future, however, Goodloe said. One hope is to expand the patio for more outdoor seating sometime this summer.

Soon, the eatery’s buns will also be made fresh from Manchester Market, and plans are to offer more smoked items as future specials.

Baby Bear Burger, 2400 Page Ave., is open from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. More information can be found on its Facebook page.
