BAY CITY, MI - H2O’s Waterside Grill has officially marked two months in business and strives to deliver a family-oriented riverside dining experience.

The newer restaurant opened in the former Hooters location at 966 E. Midland St. on Monday, June 12.

The excitement grew within the community as husband-and-wife team Marc and Laura Owczarzak worked on the building for just under a year. They prepped to open near the Fourth of July and Marc Owczarzak said they were nearly overrun in the beginning.

“It was great to see the excitement that the community had, for this place, for this piece of property and what we’ve done here,” Owczarzak said. “I’m so thankful to see the people that came out here to enjoy what we have to offer, but it made it a little bit hard for us to get our groove and correct things that needed to be corrected.”

Nonetheless, Owczarzak said they are on the other side of it now but remain a busy restaurant.

With the little bit of extra time, Owczarzak said they can work on menu items and customers should expect a few modifications after Labor Day.

They will continue to offer a variety of dishes, such as steak dishes, pizzas, burgers and seafood. They now offer lobster rolls, which isn’t on the menu yet but is available to order.

The Owczarzak family also owns O’s Pub & Grill in Auburn, where they offer deals on certain menu items on different days of the week. Owczarzak said they plan to do the same thing at H2O’s such as pizza Monday, which is $3 off any large pizza or $12 for a three item calzone.

“They say when you love something, it doesn’t feel like work, and I feel like that. I just love to be here on site,” Owczarzak said. “We’re really happy with where we are today.”

H2O’s is open 11 a.m.-11 p.m. every day, according to their Facebook page.
