What is the best tennis betting site?

BetMGM Tennis

Our 2023 review of the best tennis betting sites found that BetMGM is the cream of the crop. We discovered that BetMGM Michigan Sportsbook offers a wide range of tennis betting markets for just about every tournament you could think of, from Challenger tournaments to Grand Slam events.

Each week, you’ll find dozens of different matches to bet on, with live streaming available to elevate your tennis betting experience. Additionally, BetMGM posts a variety of boosted, pre-selected parlays, same-game parlays, and other boosts come Slam time. We also really liked the Futures and Specials that are offered by BetMGM.

Other top tennis sportsbooks

While BetMGM is our preferred tennis betting site for players, that doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy using other sportsbooks. Below you’ll find the other top Michigan sports betting sites that we recommend for placing your tennis bets:

FanDuel tennis

FanDuel Online Sportsbook

There’s a reason why FanDuel is arguably the most popular sportsbook on the market—it’s due to its well-rounded user experience. Despite it being a less popular sport for bettors, FanDuel doesn’t neglect its tennis betting section. In fact, it’s quite impressive.

FanDuel Sportsbook provides a large variety of tennis betting markets and bet types to keep your experience from getting stale. The site offers live streaming of tennis matches as well as a Parlay Builder, which we found fun to use

PointsBet tennis

PointsBet Online Sportsbook

PointsBet Sportsbook is a different, but intriguing betting experience. No other betting site has more unique features than PointsBet. You’ll likely enjoy messing around with their unique aspects like PointsBetting, where you can win more based on how much your bet wins by, and Name a Bet, which allows you to suggest bets you want to make to PointsBet. We also really enjoyed navigating the PointsBet desktop site and mobile app.

As far as tennis betting is concerned, PointsBet has a solid selection of markets and bet types. The fact that PointsBet is a global brand has led to them posting as many or more tennis markets as many of its competitors.

Wynnbet Tennis

WynnBet Online Sportsbook

WynnBet Sportsbook finds its way onto the list of the best tennis betting sites, which may surprise some people, but we assure you it has earned its spot. You’ll immediately see that WynnBet presents an outdated interface compared to its competitors, but they boast an extensive tennis betting section.

There are also great live-stream tennis services that run alongside their live betting options. Try out WynnBet’s Action Betting feature, where you can bet on the next point in tennis matches at a lightning-fast speed.

Caesars tennis

Caesars Online Sportsbook

Caesars is a bonafide heavyweight in the Michigan sports betting industry—and their tennis betting presence is solid. They don’t provide quite as many markets as some of the aforementioned sites, but Caesars frequently offers tennis-specific bonuses when the year’s biggest tournaments take place.

The odds at Caesars Sportsbook MI can be hit or miss, but that doesn’t overshadow their enhancements like tennis live streaming/betting, match tracker, and overall betting experience. We really like the Caesars mobile app’s speed and layout.

DraftKings tennis

DraftKings Online Sportsbook

You might be a bit surprised by seeing DraftKings just cracking the list of best tennis sportsbooks, but the prominent sportsbook is just average in terms of its tennis section. While DraftKings offers plenty of markets, its layout is subpar. Their tennis section consists of just a long list of each tournament, which gets really cluttered and confusing.

We do however like the odds at DraftKings and their Tennis Betting News section at the bottom of the long list of markets. If it weren’t for the competitive odds and unique Tennis Betting News section though, DraftKings likely wouldn’t be included on this list.

Where can you get the best sign-up bonus?

We believe that you can get the best sign-up bonus at FanDuel Sportsbook. After signing up, you will get $200 in bonus bets after betting just $5 or more as well as $100 off your NFL Sunday Ticket purchase for the upcoming season. You’ll also be required to make a first deposit of at least $10. FanDuel doesn’t make you use your Bonus Bets in one lump sum, which is a big plus as well.

The sign-up bonus at PointsBet is very good also, as you can get up to $1000 in Bonus Bets with PointsBet Second Chance. Just place a fixed odds cash bet each day for10 days. If one of your bets loses, they’ll give your money back with the PointsBet Second Chance.

How do we rank the best tennis betting sites?

We take a variety of factors into consideration when crafting our ranking of the best tennis betting sites. Our criteria include the markets offered, bet types, odds comparison, tennis-related promotions, and overall betting experience.

Our 2023 breakdown of the top sportsbooks examined each of the top legal and operational sportsbooks to narrow down our list. After taking all of the factors into account, we determined the top three tennis betting sites to be BetMGM, FanDuel, and PointsBet.

How do you find the best tennis betting site?

Still not convinced what the best tennis betting site in your state is? Consider following these steps to come to your own conclusion:

  • Examine each site’s welcome bonus: Every legal sportsbook offers a sign-up bonus of some kind—look at all of them—because some are better than others. A great welcome promotion could entice you to make an account in itself.
  • Compare odds: At the end of the day, sports betting is about making some money while watching your favorite games. Make sure you compare the odds at various sportsbooks for each tennis match that you plan to wager on.
  • Betting markets: Check how deep the betting market is. What kind of variety does the sportsbook have? How many types of bets can you make? How early are the odds posted?
  • Live streaming/Live betting: Make sure the site you choose has live streaming of the games you’re betting on and the ability to bet on them while you’re watching. Determine which sportsbook has the easiest live features to use
  • Mobile experience: You should feel fully comfortable using a sportsbook’s mobile app to place your tennis bets on the go
  • Tennis-specific promotions: It’s an obvious plus if you can get promotions or boosted odds on Tennis with any site

Best apps for tennis betting

The best app for tennis betting is BetMGM. Not only does BetMGM offer the highest-rated cumulative mobile sportsbook app on the market from both Android and iOS users, but they also do a great job at providing tennis streams right from your mobile device. BetMGM has been allowing users to live stream tennis matches via their app for a few years now—and they’ve really dialed in the feature.

Our other favorite apps for tennis betting include FanDuel, Caesars, and PointsBet. The WynnBet app is average at best, and DraftKings just doesn’t have a stellar tennis betting experience as we noted earlier.

Best site to bet on tennis grand slam events

Tennis has four Grand Slam events each year: The Australian Open, The French Open, Wimbledon, and The U.S. Open. Our go-to choice for betting on these events is BetMGM. They often provide the earliest Futures postings, and you can live stream matches on either your computer or phone. Overall, BetMGM is the premier sportsbook to wager on the tennis Grand Slams.

Live betting on tennis

Most of the time when an online sportsbook offers live streaming of events, they’re referring to soccer and tennis matches. The frequent live streaming of tennis matches makes live betting on the sport all that more popular. Each of the previously discussed betting sites allows you to place live wagers on tennis matches while the action is occurring.

Where is the best place to live bet on tennis?

Live Betting on Tennis BetMGM

Our go-to spot for live betting on tennis is once again, BetMGM. The site constantly has matches streaming for you to watch as it’s happening, which helps with the live betting aspect. Furthermore, BetMGM updates its match results and odds as quickly as any book in the business. BetMGM is the overall premier sportsbook for tennis betting—and live betting is a reason why.

What you should know about tennis betting?

Betting on tennis matches is quite different from placing wagers on other sports like football and basketball. You’ll often see the same types of bets, but they either mean something different or are worded differently. The most popular types of tennis bets can be found below:

  • Outright winner (Moneyline): Outright winner, aka “moneyline”, simply means picking the winner of the match. This is the most popular type of tennis bet. As per usual, the favorite will have a negative (-) sign next to his/her odds, while the underdog will have a plus (+) next to their odds.
  • Tennis spread (Point spread): A tennis spread is similar to a point spread in other sports, but it deals with either game or set spreads in this instance. For example, a game spread will have Roger Federer at -4.5—and if you make that bet—Federer will have to win five more games than his opponent for you to cover.
  • Over/Under: Over/under bets have to do with the total points scored in team sports, but it’s different in tennis. In this case, it means the number of games or sets that a match will feature.
  • Futures: Futures betting is the same in tennis as in other sports, and it’s a fun way to wager on the action. You can wager on who you believe will win high-profile tennis tournaments like Wimbledon, the US Open, the French Open, The Australian Open, etc.
  • Props: Prop bets are offered for tennis matches, but some sportsbooks only offer them for bigger tournaments. Types of props include selecting who will win the first game, the exact score, the over/under on the number of aces, and more.

Explaining key tennis terms

If you’re new to tennis betting, then there’s likely a handful of common terms used in the sport that you’re unaccustomed to hearing/reading. View a few of them below:

  • Points: The objective of each “game” in tennis is to score four points, which are numbered as follows: Love (0), 15 (one pt), 30 (two pts), 40 (three pts), Deuce (when the score is 40-40), and Advantage (the point played after Deuce)
  • Game: A game is the building block of a set. Each set is comprised of at least six (6) games.
  • Set: Usually made up of six (6) games, but if the players are tied at five (5) games a piece, the set is a race to seven (7) games.
  • Match: Professional tennis matches are determined by either the best of three (3) or five (5) sets.
