Super Bowl point spread betting

Patrick Mahomes hold Lombardi Trophy after Super Bowl 57 win

For every example such as Kansas City’s move to trade up for two-time MVP Patrick Mahomes in 2017 or Buffalo’s decision the next year to move up for franchise quarterback Josh Allen, there are misses. The points spread is one of the most common ways to bet. Instead of choosing an outright winner, bettors pick between the two teams with a handicap applied. So, if the line for the Super Bowl were to be Eagles -2.5, bettors choosing the Eagles would need them to win by three or more to win the bet. Likewise, taking the Chiefs +2.5 would be a win if they won outright or lost by two points or less.

Super Bowl money line betting

The simplest way to bet. Taking the money line option means choosing who will win or lose. There are no point spreads or any other stipulations to adhere to. It is the simplest way to bet but can be one of the most difficult wagers to win.

Super Bowl over/under: Betting the game total

Another common bet is the over/under. Each game has a total number of points set beforehand as a line by the sportsbook and your job is to choose whether the combined scoring of both teams will come in over or under that total. For the Chiefs/Eagles, if the total is 48.5, you need to choose whether the two teams will combine for more scoring than that number, or whether they will fall short.

Super Bowl Same Game Parlays

Same Game Parlays are a relatively new bet type, but a lot of fun. Parlays typically involve several games but not anymore. You can choose from things like points total, money line, spread, and player props to form a parlay with betting selections from just one game. When the Super Bowl comes around, Same Game Parlays can make the action even better.

Super Bowl teaser bets

Teasers are a lot like parlays. By adding a teaser, which moves the spread in your direction, it will increase the odds that your bet hits compared to a parlay. Of course, you won’t win quite as big as you would have with a straight-up parlay but that’s okay. Even better, the teaser applies to every game on your parlay.

Let’s take a look back at some previous examples. In a game between the New York Giants and New England Patriots, the latter was favored by 2.5 points. Let’s say the Patriots lose by a field goal. With a teaser, you could have swung the line six points, taking the Patriots +4.5 instead. That would have made your Patriots bet a winner instead of the loser that it turned out to be.

Super Bowl player prop bets

Player prop bets are some of the most fun options available. Maybe you aren’t sure who will win the big game, but you feel pretty confident that Miles Sanders will rush for a touchdown. Perhaps Patrick Mahomes will throw for 300 yards. Player props can give you a win even if the team in question loses. These are bets on the individual performance of specific players.

Super Bowl team prop bets

These are similar to the player prop bets and perhaps a little simpler. Team prop bets include total points scored (often in ranges of 5-10 points), scoring per quarter, total team touchdowns, and more. If you have confidence in one team, load up on team prop bets to amplify your winnings.

Super Bowl party prop bets

Why stop the fun at your favorite sportsbook? You can make your Super Bowl party more fun with a Super Bowl party bet that takes a variety of props, awards points to them, and awards the winner after the confetti has begun to fall. It is a great way to make any Super Bowl party all the more fun.

Decide on which props you want available, giving two choices for each question. Points will be awarded for each, giving each player a total score at the end. The highest score becomes the winner and the champion of the Super Bowl party prop bets.
