WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI - Developers are eyeing a 160-acre property north of Ann Arbor, considering moving ahead with a plan calling for 202 homes and a mixed-use commercial area.
One problem -- while the property on the southwest corner of Whitmore Lake and North Territorial roads has a sewer main connection crossing a piece of it, the land is outside Northfield Township’s “growth area.” Developers hope officials will consider allowing it to be served by sanitary sewer — a key limitation to development in rural areas.
