ANN ARBOR, MI -- Ann Arbor has you covered whether you are participating in Lent this year or just want to eat a buttery lobster tail.

Monahan’s Seafood Market

Get a bite to eat or buy some seafood to make at home at Monahan’s Seafood Market in Kerrytown.

The mix of a retail store and restaurant at 407 N. 5th Ave. offers seafood options from all over the world, whether you’re looking for cod from New England or soft shell crabs from Maryland.

Along with its market, Monahan’s has a lunch menu. Find dishes like Cajun shrimp, pan seared scallops, fried calamari and fish and chips. The shop also sells premade entrees for customers to cook at home.

The market’s retail hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Lunch is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday and bagels and Lox from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

If you’re looking for an upscale option, try Ann Arbor’s Gandy Dancer.

You’ll find oysters, shrimp cocktail, escargot, crab, scallops, lobster, mahi-mahi and salmon. The restaurant also offers soups, salads and some other options for those looking to eat beef.

Gandy Dancer’s hours are 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday and noon to 9 p.m. Saturday. The restaurant’s happy hour is 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Poke Fish

Poke Fish offers all kinds of seafood options for poke bowls, ramen and even hibachi.

Some of the restaurant’s poke bowls include salmon, tuna and spicy tuna. Poke Fish also serves seafood ramen filled with crab, squid, shrimp, scallops and other ingredients.

The restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.

The restaurant offers fresh fish and seafood from New England, the Great Lakes and Gulf of Mexico. You’ll find options like oysters, lobster, shrimp, fish and calamari.

The restaurant plans to offer Lenten specials and bring in new, weekly dishes for customers to try along with its normal menu.

The seafood restaurant also celebrates Taco Tuesdays with fish tacos. Customers can pay $5 to get a la carte fish tacos or get $3 off every carryout order of deconstructed tacos.

Black Pearl , 302 S. Main St., is open 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The restaurant’s happy hour is 5 to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
