CASS COUNTY, MI – Two people were injured in a crash where a driver, turning into a driveway, didn’t make the turn in time and collided with a motorcycle, Cass County sheriff’s deputies said.

Police were called shortly before 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, to investigate a crash near the intersection of Union Road and Wayne Street in Mason Township.

Police said a 31-year-old Niles woman was driving her vehicle north on Union Road and turned left into a residence. The woman did not clear the road in time and collided with a motorcycle that was going south on Union Road.

The two people riding the motorcycle – a man and a woman – were transported to an area hospital for treatment. Police did not say what their condition was or if the Niles woman was injured in the crash.

Police did say the Niles woman was hearing her seatbelt and those on the motorcycle were not wearing helmets.

Sheriff’s deputies were assisted on scene by Edwardsburg EMS and Porter Township EMS and Fire Department.
